What's New at Barry Shea and Associates
Shea Elected to Chair the International Ethics Standards Coalition.
The International Ethics Standards Coalition (IESC) recently held its elections of Officers for two-year terms. [DM1] The Coalition consists of over 130 nonprofit organizations for professionals operating in the land, property, construction, infrastructure and related professions. Founded in 2014, the IESC has developed and adopted a set of high-level ethical principles for practitioners.
The newly elected Officers are:
· Chair of the IES Coalition – Barry Shea, (The Appraisal Foundation)
· Deputy chair of the IES Coalition – Richard Berkemeier, (Japanese Society of Independent Appraisers, JASIA)
· Executive Secretary of the IES Coalition – Duncan Moss, (The Council of European Geodetic Surveyors)

Shea Attends International Ethics Coalition Meeting
The International Ethics Standards Coalition (IESC) met in Madrid, Spain on October 23, 2024. Shea is the current Chair of the Coalition. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were the need to review and revise the existing standards to ensure that areas such as sustainability and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) are adequately addressed. ASA International Conference
